Description

Polyelectrolyte multilayers are ultrathin films prepared by sequential adsorption of oppositely charged polyelectrolytes. Using neutron reflectivity, the mobility of polyelectrolyte molecules within the film is determined. Tuning the inter- and intramolecular interactions, the diffusion coefficient of the polyanions can be varied by more than five orders of magnitude.
