Description

So-called double-hydrophilic block copolymers (DHBP) consisting of a neutral hydrophilic block and a polyelectrolyte block are known to co-assemble with oppositely charged multivalent ions into core-corona nanoparticles with cores formed by water immiscible electrostatic complexes and coronas of the neutral hydrophilic blocks. In this talk, I will first discuss general properties of nanoparticles formed by DHBP and then focus on DHBP systems exhibiting different behavior, such as formation of self-and co-assembled nanoparticles with intermixed rather than segregated blocks.
