 t)\; TUM/FRM II\, Bernhard Ludwig (middle)\n\nA one-day introduction cours
e (18 May 2026) for the use of neutrons in heritage research at MLZ will b
e organized for interested scientists\, which is free but requires registr
ation. \nPrior to this course\, we will offer the possibility for test mea
surements in cooperation with the Czech Technical University (CTU). Regist
ration and more information can be accessed here.\n\nFrom 19 to 22 May 202
6\, the Heinz Maier-Leibnitz Zentrum (MLZ) in cooperation with the Bavari
an State Archaeological Collection will host the 2026 edition of the Inter
national Conference on Neutrons in Heritage Science. The event will take p
lace in the state collection itself\, located in the heart of Munich\, an
d brings together scientists from the field of heritage studies and large
scale facilities to initiate discussion and develop ideas for common proje
cts. It follows an initial conference in Dongguan\, China\, which took p
lace from 26 to 29 November 2024.\nThe conference brings together scientis
ts from the field of heritage studies and large scale facilities to initia
te discussion and develop ideas for common projects. A key intention is to
understand the perspective of the heritage community. Although the confe
rence will address and highlight the use of neutrons in cultural and archa
eological sciences – especially possible applications –\, complementar
y methods in this field are equally welcome. Especially as the user commun
ity is keen to explore how neutron-based techniques compare with similar a
pproaches utilizing complementary contrasts. \nTopics:\n·  Archaeometr
 y\n·  Cultural Heritage and Conservation\n·  Historical Metallurgy\n·
Paleontology\n·  Instrumental Developments for Heritage Science\nThe
conference program will offer four intense days packed with keynote speec
hes\, contributed talks\, a poster session\, as well as optional tours thr
ough the state collection\, an excursion and a conference dinner.\nWe are
looking forward to welcoming you in Munich in 2026!\nThe organizers\nHeinz
