DESCRIPTION:Neutron-based experiments and other scattering methods are pla
ying an increasingly vital role in advancing human health. They reveal hyd
rogen-bond networks and the organization of surrounding water in complex m
olecular assemblies. They provide structural insights under true physiolog
ical conditions\, and enable the production of radioisotopes for medical i
maging and cancer therapy. Thus neutrons have become an indispensable tool
for the investigation of functional biological systems.\n \nA key streng
th of neutron techniques is in their ability to exploit selective deuterat
ion\, which allows for precise contrast matching of light elements in the
 sample. Additinally\, they are inherently non-destructive. \n \nNeutron
and other scattering techniques offer unique opportunities to study mater
ials for medical applications\, unravel the molecular mechanisms underlyin
g disease\, and support the development of innovative drugs and therapeuti
c strategies.\n \nThe following sessions are planned to demonstrate how t
hese techniques can be combined with each other to contribute to further a
dvances in this research area.\n \n\ndrug and vaccine delivery\ndrug desi
