The Data Evaluation Group is pleased to announce a 1-day GISAS workshop on 24th October 2023 with support of the Scientific Computing group (SCG) and MLZ instrument scientists. This workshop will include lectures on reflectometry and GISANS as well as demonstration of software developed at MLZ.
The participants will learn to simulate and fit small-angle neutron and x-ray scattering at grazing incidence using the BornAgain software, and become aware of its latest capabilities for modelling and fitting thin film multilayers. Anaklasis is a software for treating reflectivity data from Maria instrument and will also be introduced here. By end of the day, the participants will have learnt how to simulate and fit GISAS and reflectometry data from MLZ instruments at a beginner’s level.
Participants are requested to download and install the BornAgain software from https://bornagainproject.org/download/ (Version 21.1) before the workshop. In case of difficulties, please contact SCG at room 03.62, building UYM.
The Anaklasis software may be downloaded from https://github.com/alexandros-koutsioumpas/anaklasis
The workshop will be held in Garching at the Glaspalast and is limited to 15 participants on a first come, first served basis. Participants are expected to bring their own laptops.
