The Data Evaluation Group is pleased to offer the conference participants a GISANS workshop on 3rd June with support of MLZ instrument scientists and the Scientific Computing group. The aim of this workshop is to demonstrate the potential of GISANS and reflectivity techniques for energy materials.
This workshop will consist of fundamental lectures on reflectometry and GISANS and include demonstration of software developed at MLZ. The participants will learn how reflectivity and grazing incidence small-angle neutron scattering can be simulated and analysed using the BornAgain and Anaklasis software. They will obtain a hands-on experience in fitting reflectivity and GISANS data from MLZ instruments MARIA and REFSANS at a beginner’s level.
The workshop will be held in Garching at the Glaspalast and is limited to 15 participants on a first come, first served basis. There is no registration fee, but registration is mandatory. Participants are expected to bring their own laptops.
Participants are requested to download and install the BornAgain software from https://bornagainproject.org/ext/files/21.2/, the corresponding python module 'bornagain' v21.2 via pip, other materials from https://bornagainproject.org/ext/files/DEVA-GISANS/ before the workshop. In case of difficulties, please contact SCG at room 03.62, building UYM.
The Anaklasis software may be downloaded from https://github.com/alexandros-koutsioumpas/anaklasis
