The International Conference on Highly Frustrated Magnetism (HFM) brings together experts from the magnetism community worldwide. HFM emphasizes and discusses theoretical and experimental studies concerning magnetic frustration and related topics in quantum magnetism.

The HFM international conference was first held in Waterloo, Canada in June 2000 and  since then, it has been hosted biannually in various countries across America, Europe, and Asia, most recently 2025 in Toronto, Canada. HFM has established itself as a thriving venue for engaging scientific exchange and presentation of latest research developments in condensed matter physics. 

The HFM series is renowned for its engaging and inclusive environment, featuring a single-session format and highly interactive poster sessions. Poster sessions are designed to be dynamic and encourage direct interactions between presenters and attendees, promoting in-depth discussions. These sessions foster an enjoyable and collaborative atmosphere for students, postdocs, and active researchers to exchange ideas and learn about the latest breakthroughs.

The 14th International Conference on Highly Frustrated Magnetism (HFM27) will be held in-person from 26 to 30 July, 2027, in Munich, Germany.
