This talk will explain the mathematics of computerized tomography following the book “Principles of Computerized Tomographic Imaging” by Kak and Slaney, treating filtered back projection in Fourier and normal space, and derive the mathematically ideal number of projections for a given sample and detector, then explain why this ideal number is not needed in real life.
