close to the picturesque town of Tegernsee,

on Sunday Aug 27 before the school.
There are two meeting points/times:
1) For those staying overnight in the city of Garching:
at 7:30 am in the lobby of the hotel Hoyeracker Hof.
contact: Elisabeth Jörg-Müller
Please be in time, to that we can take together the underground U6 departing at 7:56 from Garching station to join the Burkhard's group ...
2) for everyone else
at 8:30 am at Munich Central station (please see map below), meeting with Burkhard.
Once we are all together, we will take a train to the city of Tegernsee, then a bus to the cable car station of Wallberg.
(costs: about € 10.-, depending on number of participants for group ticket)
Depending on weather and fitness, you may decide to walk up the mountain (2:30 hours on easy path, good walking shoes are recommended) or take the cable car (€ 20.- both ways, or € 11.- single) , and do a light walk to the summit from the cable car summit station.
Beers and food are available on the mountain, however, we ask you to bring a light back pack and carry some water.
Please bring both sun glasses, a hat and sun screen and a light rain coat, since heat and rain showers might alternate.
On the way back, we can spend some time in Tegernsee, a very touristic place, but good for shopping souvenirs.
In case of bad weather, we will go to the ‘Deutsches Museum’ instead, the biggest technical museum in the world, in downtown Munich.
