The field of applications of neutron imaging is very diverse and frequently new applications appear from the need of customers to visualize details in samples that could not be investigated with other non-destructive techniques such as X-ray CT. Due to their unique contrast mechanism, neutrons give particularly high sensitivity for hydrogen and good penetration of many metals. As a result, several types of investigations have been established as standard use cases for neutron imaging. An overview of such applications coming both from scientific and industrial background will be given in this presentation.
